Trees and Gems (journal entry)

The people we loved and who loved us back will always be a part of us.

But understand, that once they stopped playing an active role in our lives

they have ceased to grow in us as well.

Just like a gem stored in a box, they will always have a special place in our hearts.

And that’s it. They can no longer accompany us in our next destination.

Unlike trees.

Trees are our constant companion. A shelter, a stronghold.

They grow with us, change with us.

They may branch out in a distance, but their roots and ours will always remain close.

They are the people who see us ‘til the end.
