R&B (flash fic) [GL]

Red: Hey, don’t you think it’s unfair to be hugging that silly creature all this time?

Blue: What’s that got to do with you? (turns away with the panda stuffed toy) Just leave me alone.

Red: You’re pathetic.

Blue: I know.

Red: (irritated) Just get back to your usual self and stop thinking about her if it hurts!

Blue: Usual... self... And what is that?

Red: (calms down)

Blue: The usual pretend?

Red: I was thinking the strong you. The almost invincible-like you.

Blue: Maybe I was just trying to look like one, don’t you think? I was just trying to be.

Red: Well then keep trying.

Blue: What can I do? (sobs)

Red: You’ve been crying since last night. Wasn’t that enough?

Blue: It hurts I couldn’t help myself. It hurts so much I just want the pain to stop. I’ve decided to let it all out until there’s nothing left.

Red: It hurts seeing you wasted like that, you know.

Blue: It’s cold...

Red: What?

Blue: ...Maybe because it has rained.

Red: Yeah, it suddenly rained when you finally got a shut eye.

 Blue: Maybe those are my tears from yesterday.

Red: Hey... Just tell her she hurts you. Make this simple and just get over it.

Blue: What’s the point?

Red: To get that off of you so you’ll feel better.

Blue: I don’t really get the point. What you’re saying is like “running back through the fire when there’s nothing left to save.”

Red: (sighs) Please, don’t give me that Broken Strings obsession of yours.

Blue: It’s so cold since I woke up I feel as if an ice shard is pierced into my heart.

Red: What? Anna from Frozen?

Blue: Then, maybe I need an Elsa to melt my frozen heart.

Red: Geez. You don’t need anyone. You just need a cup of hot cocoa or mocha.

Blue: (looks at her, eyes swollen) Will you... get me one then?

Red: Ha! When you use your sulking to get people busy around you.

Blue: But... I don’t usually trouble people. Just you, maybe...

Red: (sighs) Anyway, I’ll get you one then.

Blue: Thanks... and a hug too, please?

Red: (cringes) Your being clingy is just waaaay out of character it gives me shivers.

Blue: (pouts)

Red: (goes to Blue and hugs her) I’m just kidding. Maybe it’s the cold getting to me as well.

Blue: (hugs her tight)

Red: You know, though it hurts me seeing you this way, I guess it’s okay to be vulnerable too at times.

Blue: Yeah... I need a break from trying to be strong all of the time.

Red: I know. I’ll hug you longer this time then. The cold will pass soon. It wasn’t there in the first place, and it doesn’t intend to stay.

Blue: (looks at her dearly) Don’t forget the hot choco too, please.

Red: Ah, save that for later. My hug is warmer.
